Instead of catching up... (which overwhelms me to the core) I'll just start where I am now. I need to be better at this. Which, how many times have I said that? Fail. However, I will be better. Starting today. Muahah. <-------don't know why that was needed.

Today:

Was good! I woke up at 9 and rescheduled my alarm to go off later 3 times. I finally got up at 9:50 and got in the shower. So much for my "plan" of waking up early for my shoot. I'm not much of a morning person. I think at one time I had to be (in highschool when I was in the Madrigals... our rehearsals where at 7 am every morning and I had to look good for school the rest of the day so I was up at least by 6 am) but somehow I've lost all my energy. I'm getting old *sigh* Anyways. My shoot. I was nervous. I usually am nervous for shoots, even though I've been in the business for a year now. I don't know if that nervousness will ever go away? It's good in a way, helps force my mind into creativity if it's not already there. And when I get to the shoot and meet the people, the nervousness goes away pretty quick. This time it was nervousness about the sun. Usually I shoot at around sunset or really early morning. If I had the right equipment, I could shoot harsh sun, but I fear I don't quite yet. This was a group of around 50 people and we were shooting at 10 am. The sun is quite high by that time in the morning and I am not a fan of taking bad pictures. We decided to shoot at the Jacob Hamblin home and luckily there was some shade to work with! Phew! (Somehow my shoots always seem to work out). Oh! And I got to shoot with a sexy lens today! I rented the 17-40 L for this shoot because I needed something wide and sharp (whereas my kit lens 18-55 mm wouldn't have done the job right). Here's one photo from it. Couldn't be too creative with this shot as we had to go where there was enough shade to cover everyone, but we did smaller group shots and individual family shots that were a bit more fun. I'll have to post those later on my photography blog here. For now, just showing the sharpness of the lens... wish I had actually taken a pic with my kit lens to shot the difference. Anywho, here ya go:

After, the day was quite ordinary. I had some lunch with my momma and then went to work. I also got off a couple hours early so that my parents could go out on a date. I babysat Kent and the twins and turned on So You Think You Can Dance. It was the episode where we found out the top 20 dancers. Can I just say I have the coolest siblings ever? They all sat quietly and watched it with me! Maybe the twins will grow up to be dancers and can get on the show so I can live through them ;) haha jk. But really. It was a fun night :)
